	Finding Research Materials
	Use of University of the Air Library You are first recommended to use the University of the Air Study Center library nearest your home. The University Library located on the University of the Air Headquarters in Makuhari has a large collection of books and other research materials. Access the University Library by computer using the index provided at the library nearest you. You can also access the following from home, via the Internet, to find needed research materials at either the University Library or the Study Centers. (http://opac.u-air.ac.jp/ilis/) You will be able to process book loan arrangements through the University Library or through the Study Center nearest your home, without having to visit the University Library. For further details, see the Guide to Using the University Library.” Use of Other Libraries It is also advisable to use other university libraries or public libraries, which are located near your home. The facilities of other universities, if available, are offered to the University of the Air students as a favor. When using any these libraries, please abide by their rules and regulations and whatever special instructions you may be given by their librarians. All University of the Air students registered at the Kanagawa Study Center are welcome to not only read but also take out books from the Yokohama National University Library located at Tokiwadai 79-6, Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama City(Tel:O45-335-l451). Inquire at the Study Center for further details. Also more information will be available from the Study Center office for the use of other facilities located elsewhere. You can access the Yokohama National University Library via the Internet from your home. http://www.lib.ynu.ac.jp/It is recommended that you contact the Library via the Internet or the telephone before your actual visit to the Library. ａ.Reading If you wish to read books and other materials at the libraries of other universities, you must have a Request Form issued by the Director of the University of the Air Library. Fill out the Application to use another University’s Library and submit it to the Study Center Office. ｂ.Checking Out Materials The National Diet Library and libraries of other universities may allow you to not only read materials at the library but to also borrow books from their collections. In this case, fill out the Application for Loan of Books and Other Materials and submit it to the Study Center Office. Note, however, that this privilege may not always be available. You are expected to pay the postage. ｃ.Duplication You can obtain photocopies of published papers if you know the title of the paper, author, or the publication. Fill in the Application for Duplication Request for Other Universities and submit it to the Study Center Office.
